The Ugly Update

What a difference a few short weeks make!

After telling you about how the Grand Prix has changed the landscape around here from pretty awesome to pretty ugly, we have arrived at phase II:  the calm before the storm, a.k.a., get out of Dodge.

Things are becoming eerily quiet.  Most residents have fled Monaco, leaving the safe cocoon of the Principality to make way for the coming onslaught of Grand Prix mayhem and madness.

The last to fall victim to the ugly was Casino Square with the beautiful Belle Epoch Casino and the Hotel de Paris, barricaded beyond recognition to protect it against the onslaught of visitors and roaring F1 cars.

On the bright side, after the Grand Prix has come and gone and nothing more remains than some skid marks here and there on the roads, Monaco will be transformed into a stage for the marriage of HSH Prince Albert on July 1st and 2nd.

Especially here on the "Rock" or Monaco-Ville where the wedding and most of the events will happen, it's obvious that guests are coming.  But that's another post....
